Four of Poker’s Nice Guys
No Joke, millions and millions of players want to be the next "huge thing" in poker, but here is a short rundown on four of the more well known "nice players" of poker. Although "nice" is associated with their names when you are facing them it’s "no more Mr. Nice guy" until they have removed you out of the competition!
Daniel Negreanu
In Two Thousand and Four, his tourney winnings added up to more than four and a half million dollars and he came away with two highly admired awards in the WSOP Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tourney Player of the Year. In February Two Thousand and Six he was appointed Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. Daniel even still has the decency to speak to his fans about how they could improve their own game.
Howard Lederer
Referred to as "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker professional Annie Duke. His achievements have allowed him to make an educational video named "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also holding a tournament poker show for Fox TV. As of 2005, his complete life time earnings surpass 2.7 million dollars.
Scotty Nguyen
Scotty is 1 of the most active players in professional poker and from Two Thousand to 2004 he ranked in the money in well over one hundred competitions. He’s noted for saying "yeah baby" during poker games and also coined the term "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a exceptionally bad loss. As of 2006, his career winnings are just about six million dollars.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has won 5 World Series of Poker titles with 2 of his wins coming in Two Thousand and Three. Has the nickname "Jesus" as a result of his characteristic long hair and beard, along with his ability to throw playing cards quick enough to cut through bananas and pickles. As of Two Thousand and Five his total live poker tourney earnings exceeded 5 million dollars.
