No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the planet by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather introduced him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover everything he possibly could about the game. Phil would tell his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the detrimental feedback from others kill his goal of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

He began competing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a learning experience and winning was not a regular thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he defeated a number of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and an immeasurable passion for poker. Phil says that he’s learning every single day and is incredibly humble about his accomplishments. He admits to making blunders in each session of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some large tournaments, he favors winning money games on a normal basis.
