Net High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only player to make it to the last game in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest players around the world. While betting on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. Gus frequently plays in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of $40, 000. Gus more often than not buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then goes all in. I accept that Gus is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the min takes a majority of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the best players in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amt.. I think tv can skew our view of the real world every now and then. The best players in the world might just be guys you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be found playing internet poker on Full Tilt. He generally competes in big stakes omaha hi-low and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his skills in money rounds?
